"The Four I's of oppression" (Blog #3)

For this weeks blog I watched a video by Luna Malbroux, she talked about the four I's of Oppression. While she was explaining what the four I's were and their definition I realized that I have heard the definition of these words before but I never realized that they had an exact name. The four I's were "Ideological, interpersonal, institutional and internalized."

When she mentioned that even before we were born these society norms were already created I never really thought about that before. I thought back to the same example that she mentioned, the one where blue was always considered a boy color and girl has always been known as a girl color.

These norms are still in today world, and its unfortunate that is some cases if you don't agree in a certain norm your seen as "odd" or "weird."

I can't think of any personal experince with me, but I do remember in elementary school there was a lot of girls who would get made fun of for liking the color blue...because its considered a "boy color."
